4th Biennial Commission Competition 201010/1/20101-OCT-2010 OverviewThe University of New Mexico (UNM) Robb Trust Composers’ Competition is open to all interested national (USA) composers and involves international judges:
A $3,500 prize will be awarded for the winning composition which will be performed during UNM’s Robb Composers’ Symposium in March, 2011. As in the past, the competition will continue to focus upon Dean Robb’s legacy by requiring entries to be based upon themes of folk songs from the Robb Archives at the Center for Southwest Research in the UNM Zimmerman Library. There is no age limit, and students are welcome to apply. The winning composer must be present at the Composers’ Symposium for the acceptance of the award and for the intended performance of his/her composition. If selected for the award, the composer will be required to provide a complete score and accurate, legible parts. He/She will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of performers for the Symposium performance. Performers may be made available through the Robb Trust.
